"Man Age Cage", ceramic, 84 in. tall, 1997
The low-fired ceramic figures, glazed with green glaze, are standing in a steel structure, which is mounted from separate parts. The rusty steel surface is sealed wit wachs. The three figures represent different types of men in different ages. Physiognomy, pose and illustrating details are references to certain values and stages of developments. Fertility symbols of South East Asian treble art are intended. The cage associates both, protection and captivity.
